Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can the charter group include more than 6 people and why not?
A: The 6 person maximum is set by the USCG. This limit is strictly enforced. Yes, children (even if
they are very small!) do count as people!
Q: Do we get to keep all of the fish we catch?
A: Yes, all of the fish caught on the charter are the property of the anglers. Some species are regulated by NC and federal laws.
Q: Will I get seasick?
A: If you are prone to motion sickness,
this may be a valid concern. Several over the counter remedies are available
and using one can sometimes make your trip much more enjoyable. We like
"Bonine". Consult with your doctor.
Q: Can all 6 people fish at the
same time?
A: If we are bottom fishing, yes.
If we are trolling the mate will usually have you rotate after catches
because only 4-5 lines are used to reduce tangles.
Q: Is it okay to bring children?
A: Yes. We are very child-friendly,
but don't recommend that you bring infants, for their own comfort. Life
jackets are always available and we can fit a child in one before he
or she boards the boat, at your request.
Q: Does the boat provide fish cleaning services?
A: No. Fish cleaning is available
for a fee by Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, rate based on pounds of fish.
You can also take them home and clean them yourself, if you prefer.
Q: How long is the ride to the fishing grounds?
A: Depending on the type of trip
and the time of year, running time varies from 5 minutes to the sound
to 1.5 hours for a deepwater bottom fishing trip.
Q: Will we catch tuna, dolphin, wahoo, or marlin?
A: NO! We hate to shout, but we
are fishing for near coastal fish, NOT gulfstream fish. If this is the
experience you are looking for, you need to book an offshore boat. We
will be happy to give references.
